For our second Building Material assignment, our group (Amy, Jadyn, Nurina, Rozanna, Ikal, and me) had to select a building and study about the materials used to construct it, hence the name; Building Materials.
It's very obvious.
We decided to study on Masjid Wilayah / Federal Territory Mosque, the building and the materials.
The Kuala Lumpur Mosque, or Masjid Wilayah, was constructed between 1998 to 2000. It is situated on a five hectare site near the Government Office Complex along Jalan Duta. The Wilayah Persekutuan (Federal Territory) Mosque was opened to the public on 25 October 2000 and was officiated by the 12th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Almarhum Syed Putra Jamalulail. It is the 44th mosque built by the Government within the city limits. The mosque can accommodate 17,000 worshippers at any one time.
Masjid Wilayah was made from many, various materials. Concrete, plaster, marble, aluminium, steel, lapis lazuli, onyx, paint, teak wood, plywood, carpet, etched glass, pewter, granite, cement, glass blocks, stained glass, white gypsum, ceramic tiles, fibre glass, rubber, were the materials used to construct Masjid Wilayah.

For the Individual Board:-
The site I've chosen was the Prayer Hall.
Overall, this assignment taught me on how to identify and understand on how certain material works. Quite an important information in architecture as we can't just simply use any materials in construction, right?
