Building Materials, First Assignment

OPΛCITY

For our first Building Materials' assignment, we had to choose a shape, and three different materials into a model to show how the materials were applied. It can be applied in any way possible; to show space, to show different textures, to show density, any way I can think of.

For my model, I've decided to use cubes and for the materials, I've chosen perspex, translucent plastic sheets, and balsa wood. The concept was about opacity; by arranging perspex -> plastic sheet -> balsa wood (transparent -> translucent -> opaque) gradually to show opacity. Even the arrangement of the cubes were inspired from light waves.

This assignment introduced me to the application of materials. and learning how to implement its properties in different ways.
