For Building Science II, our task was to find an auditorium, and measure, then present on how does sound propagates inside the auditorium. We chose the auditorium in KLPAC, famously known for its up-to-date methods on sound absorbance and sound propagations.
As for the second assignment, we had to do a report and a board on artificial lighting/day lighting, and come up with the measurements, based on our Studio work.
Cangkat Minden Jalan 15,
Taman Brown,
11700 Gelugor,
Pulau Pinang.
School ; Tropical is located in between an existing football field, and a patch of greenery in the heart of Cangkat Minden. Half of the building is totally exposed to the elements, while the other half; the one positioned in the forest, has ample amount of shade. The exposed section has glass panels, several one the sides, and one on top to allow sunlight to pass through, and the forested section is mostly covered up, for security purposes. The building is positioned to utilise the sun’s orientation, limiting the use of artificial lighting. The top panel has insulated glass, and reflective panels, and dark asphalt shingles covering parts of the building.
