Studio IV

PROJECT 1
For Project 1, we had to design a playspace using re-purposed materials for children. The playspace, U n' Under, is a structure that allows children to crawl through an alternate version of a tunnel, and also acts as a hammock for leisure. The re-imagined 'tire swing' allows children to climb up, giving them freedom.

PROJECT 2
For the second project, we had to go to Taman Desa for an extensive site research. We then compile out the findings together and come up with informative diagrams of the site, as well as design recommendations for the site.

FINAL PROJECT
For our final project, based on the second one, we had to design a recycling center to replace an old one on site. Located next to A busy street in taman desa, desa workshop & gallery replaces the old recycling center, and add in  daily crafting classes for the taman desa community, as well as an art gallery, showcasing works from the community itself, for the community.

The intention of this project was to introduce and educate the community in the importance of recycling, and also to allow the creative minds the express themselves. The communal areas within Desa Workshop and Gallery can be utilised by everyone.

In conclusion, this module taught me on how to utilize space within a limited boundary, and how to make the project stand out, without overpowering the context.
